AMRIT pharmacies to come in Govt hospitals

SHILLONG: The State Government has signed an agreement on Friday to set up more pharmacies in state government hospitals. The agreement was signed between the state government and the HLL Lifecare Limited to set up Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) pharmacy outlets in the government hospitals.
Initially, the AMRIT pharmacy outlet will be set up in Shillong Civil Hospital, thereafter, at Ganesh Das Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
The AMRIT pharmacy outlets will eventually be rolled out to other district hospitals.
AMRIT pharmacies will sell both drugs and implants at significant discount on market rates, based on authentic prescriptions from doctors.The agreement was signed between the Mission Director, NHM, H. M. Shangpliang and the Director (Marketing), HLL Lifecare Limited, T. Rajasekar. The Director of Health Services (MCH & FW), Dr. D. Lyngdoh and Regional Manager, HLL Lifecare Limited, Rupa Chakravorty were also present at the signing of an agreement.
