Kolkata: The West Bengal Government will be formally announcing the setting up of an industrial township authority in Howrah in three months.
Surveys are on in full swing at the moment to determine the areas to be brought under the authority.
Some 20,000-30,000 acre of Howrah district covering several proposed industrial parks, like ones for foundry, chemicals, plastics and rubber will be notified as part of the industrial township.
The Howrah Industrial Township will be set up on the lines of the Bantala Township and will enable the Government to invest in basic infrastructure for industrial development.
The Government is expecting fresh investment to the tune of Rs 46,000 crore in the area, sources here said. UNI
