Tree falls damaging vehicles in city

SHILLONG: A tree fell on an SPTS bus and two other vehicles near St. Mary’s College here on Wednesday morning.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar informed that the mishap occurred early in the morning when the tree fell on the road uprooting an electric pole.
While the SPTS bus was passing through the area, the vehicles were parked nearby. No one was injured in the incident.
A team of Meghalaya Fire and Emergency Services and Forest department later cleared the road.
Power supply was also affected in the area following the incident.
