SHILLONG: The chief minister said on Friday the government is following up the case of IAS officer HM Shangpliang.
Speaking to the media, Mukul Sangma said he had gone through the report but “we have a procedure”.
“When anything is brought to the notice, the government gives necessary direction to find out what is happening and the further course of action follows,” he added.
Cabinet Minister Deborah Marak said Shangpliang has been served a show-cause notice and people should wait for the report.
A video clip circulated recently showed the IAS officer taking part in a Congress meeting at Lawbah in Mawsynram where he was reportedly seen praising the party.
The official is yet to resign from his posts though he is preparing to contest on Congress ticket.
Several social organisations and opposition parties are demanding inquiry and action against the officer.
