Counter FIR on cattle smuggling

SHILLONG: Sengkambal Sangma from Phulbari, against whom an FIR was lodged by several pressure groups in connection with cattle smuggling, has filed a counter FIR against them.
Sangma charged the pressure groups of engaging in extortion.
Sangma said in his FIR that he quit as assistant general secretary of AYWO in protest against the pressure groups who were colluding with cattle smugglers for making fast buck.
He said the students are also being used by the pressure ) groups for illegal collection of money.
Sangma asked the police to have an independent probe into the matter.
Earlier, the pressure groups had denied the allegations of nexus with cattle smugglers and instead pointed finger at Sangma.
