Battalion constable guns down colleague, flees

SHILLONG:  A constable of the 3rd Meghalaya Police Battalion based at Sahbsein in West Jaintia Hills has shot dead one of his colleagues and fled with his weapon.  An alert has been sounded by Meghalaya Police to arrest the accused constable Lusen A Sangma.

Look out notice issued against 3rd MLP Battalion constable, Lusen A Sangma who has killed one of his colleagues.

Police informed that at around 1.00 A.M. on Sunday, battalion constable Lusen Sangma stormed into the top-floor room of Havildar Litsingh Inghi who was sitting with two other subordinates. All of a sudden, Lusen fired about six rounds from his weapon at the Havildar who later succumbed to his injuries.

The constable then rushed down to the ground floor of the battalion building and fired about 15 more rounds indiscriminately before fleeing the scene with his weapon.

The details of the incident and the accused have been shared with all the officials of Meghalaya Police with a direction to arrest absconding Lusen Sangma.
