Gambhir starts community kitchen to feed poor, needy

New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) In a bid to feed the poor and hungry through his foundation, India cricketer Gautam Gambhir today announced the launching of daily free kitchen in the national capital.
The southpaw took to microblogging website Twitter to announce the initiative through his foundation, named ‘Gautam Gambhir foundation.
“Won World Cups, one IPLs, beaten opponents. Now time 2 win hearts & beat hunger. Community Kitchen #1 by Gautam Gambhir Foundation,” Gambhir tweeted.
“Compassion in my heart, a plate in my hand & a prayer on my lips ‘No one should sleep hungry,” the Kolkata Knight Rider skipper said further with a photo of him serving food to a needy.
Earlier, Gambhir, who is known for taking stand for Indian soldiers, had offered financial aid to children of all the 25 martyred CRPF personnel, who lost their life in a Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh. UNI
