SHILLONG: It was an interaction reflecting the positive vibes that have improved the lives of street children being trained in different skills by Shillong Reach Ministry, a voluntary Christian organisation, during their visit to the Sadar Police Station here on Wednesday.
These children who were once subjected to hardships and sufferings are now getting ready to take control of their own lives by virtue of the training they have undergone at the patronage of Shillong Reach Ministry.
Some of them are undergoing beautician course while some are getting trained to become tailors. Some are pursuing studies.
The Sadar Police station has chipped in to make these children’s lives better by arranging warm water to the Reach Ministry for the children from some city hotels that used to charge earlier for the same.
The police station also arranged a barber who will give a haircut to each of these children once a month.
The police have said they would take the children for movie shows once a week for their recreation.
