BJP downplays Dalu members’ en masse exit

TURA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Garo Hills has clarified on the news report about Dalu Mandal members quitting the party en masse saying that it was not a loss.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the party’s Tura City District President, Dilash Marak, said it was the anti-party activities of the members that “automatically led to the dissolution of the whole Mandal Committee and its reconstitution with Bobani Koch as the President”.
“The Dalu BJP Mandal Committee led by Utpal Marak was a defunct body after Bernard Marak resigned.
Utpal removed the party’s national flag from the Dalu office without the party’s knowledge that shows that the committee has ceased to exist. It was only on instructions from the BJP high command that I constituted the new BJP Dalu Mandal Committee,” Marak said and added that its former members’ joining NCP was not a loss.
