SHILLONG: It will be a new lease of life for Congress legislator Comingone Ymbon, who has partially recovered from his illness.
Ymbon will be inducted into the ministry along with party legislator Celestine Lyngdoh on Friday replacing Cabinet ministers Sniawbhalang Dhar and Prestone Tynsong.
The legislator from Raliang was suffering from spine-related problem and was discharged from Super Care Hospital in the city on Wednesday.
Earlier, he had also undergone operation in a hospital outside the State.
In the invitation letter sent from Raj Bhavan, it was mentioned that only a new member will be sworn in as minister on Friday as it was not sure whether Ymbon will be able to attend the swearing-in ceremony since he was sick.
“I got a call from the office of CM at 5.30 pm and later another call came from Raj Bhavan,” Ymbon told The Shillong Times. He said though he is little weak, he is ready and happy to be inducted as a minister in the Cabinet. “I need support from all of you,” he added.
Celestine Lyngdoh also expressed happiness over his induction into the Cabinet.
When asked about the portfolios, Lyngdoh said he would come to know later.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma had indicated that there would be a minor reshuffle in the Cabinet and a new minister would be inducted on Friday.
When reporters asked about who was the ‘chosen one’, he had smiled and said, “I will tell you.”
