Complaint filed against village heads
SHILLONG: The SDO(C) of Sohra Civil Sub Division has filed a police complaint against the village durbar stating that the village durbar, vigilance managing committee, chairman and secretary of Mawsiangei village did not distribute PDS rice to the beneficiaries of the village under NFSA-2013.

One dies in accident
SHILLONG: SHILLONG: One person Warson W Sangma died in East Garo Hills after a truck rammed against the wall of a shop on July 28. The driver Nikrak N Sangma, while reversing, rammed against a shop at Rongjeng Bazar. In the incident, the wall of the shop collapsed and Sangma sustained injuries and later succumbed to his injuries on the way to CHC Rongjeng.

Truck driver flees
SHILLONG: One truck (ML-04A-0610) was detected by the police while checking illegal transportation of coal at Shi Kilo and Lakyrte in East Jaintia Hills on the evening of August 1. However, the truck driver on seeing the police fled away leaving the truck behind.

Three injured in accident
Shillong: Two persons were seriously injured and another one sustained minor injuries when the loaded truck they were travelling went off the road and hit the wall of Sunny Side Theological College, Upper Shillong on Thursday morning. The driver Bupul Sarkar and John Islam received serious injuries in the accident. All the injured victims were taken to Shillong Civil Hospital by 108 ambulance for treatment.

FKJGP demands road repair
SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawryngkneng circle along with FKJGP Ksehpyndeng, FKJGP Kut units has written a complaint to the Executive Engineer of Shillong by-pass to repair the road from Mawryngkneng to Ksehpyndeng, Puriang to Kut. The organization has also urged the PWD to repair dilapidated road conditions and called upon the intervention of the MLA/MDC of the constituency.

NH7 Weekender in October
