KSU slams Ri Bhoi DC, SP for negligence of duty

SHILLONG: The KSU North Khasi Hills District unit has criticised the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police for failing to protect the people at the disputed area of Madan Umwang and other places bordering Assam in Ri-Bhoi district.
The Union further flayed the lackadaisical attitude and the step-motherly treatment of Madan Umwang and Meghalaya-Assam bordering areas which has emboldened the Karbi Peoples’ Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militant groups and Assam police to disturb the peace in the areas.
KSU wants a clarification from the DC and the SP as it alleged that the district administration intends to hunt the KSU members and not look after the disturbance caused by the Assam police and the militants.
Asserting that the DC and SP have ulterior motives, the Union said “The SP and DC should discharge their duties well and not interfere in our work.”
