Protest against Tura CH expansion

SHILLONG: Former ANVC-B chairman Bernard Marak has indicated that he would file a petition in the court if the GHADC and the Stte Government forcefully occupy land at Rongkachiring for the expansion of Tura civil hospital as part of the upcoming medical college.
In a statement, Marak, quoting a Supreme Court order said, “No law made by the Regional or District Councils with respect to allotment, occupation or use of setting apart of land as mentioned in that clause, shall have the effect of preventing  compulsory acquisition of land for public purposes.”
