SHILLONG: The Harisabha locality in Laban is facing a shortage of water supply of late.
Residents complained that they are experiencing a thread-like flow of water for the past one week.
“The force of water released in the morning and evening hours through the pipes has come down significantly,” rued a resident.
According to the affected families, the flow of water has been affected since the time a footpath behind Shyam Store, where the road starts in the locality, was dismantled and water pipes subsequently exposed. The main feeder line to the community water tank in Harisabha also runs through there.
“Household chores have been affected due to such a significant drop in water supply,” said another resident. The residents have urged the local MLA to address the problem once and for all in the locality.
