SHILLONG: The former minister and senior Congress leader, Prestone Tynsong, on Monday ruled out weakening of his position in Pynursla constituency following his exit from the Congress-led MUA-II Cabinet.
Tynsong said that the opponents can interpret the cabinet reshuffle in whatever way they want to but “he enjoys the love and support of the people”.
Tynsong said when he was a cabinet minister, he had to look after the whole State, but now he got more time to concentrate in his constituency. “Now, I can be closer to the people of my constituency and my priority is to work hard,” he added. When asked about the reason for his exit from the ministry, Tynsong said, “I do not know. This you should ask the chief minister or AICC.”
Stating that he is still a Congress man, Tynsong said he had pacified his supporters and asked them not to take any drastic steps though they were unhappy over the Cabinet reshuffle.
