Imposters steal vehicle
A group of miscreants posed as tourists and stole a rent car after making the driver unconscious, said a complaint lodged by Fullmoonstar Nongsiej recently. He said around 12.30 pm on August 2, two unidentified persons hired his tourist vehicle (ML-05Q-2565) driven by Banshanlang Rani from Shillong to Sohra. On reaching Mawkdok, the passengers gave the driver juice. Rani fell unconscious after drinking it. The imposters then drove the vehicle to Nagaon in Assam where they abandoned the driver and took away the vehicle.

Theft
Cases of theft in the city are rising and two cases were reported on August 6. Ragini Thapa lodged a complaint that around 7 pm last Sunday, a miscreant snatched her bag that had Rs 2,500 in cash, PAN and Aadhaar cards at Keating Road. On the same day, Sumanta Mary Talang, a resident of Arbuthnot Road in Laitumkhrah, lodged a complaint that miscreants entered his house and took his cellphone early in the morning.

Stabbing
A 48-year-old man from Iawmusiang Jowai in West Jaintia Hills was admitted in hospital last Sunday after he was stabbed by miscreant(s) at Wah Nangbah Jowai.
In another case, Jessica Myrchiang lodged a complaint that around 11.40 am on August 4, Riya Pale and others assaulted and attempted to murder her by stabbing her with scissors at Mihmyntdu village in West Jaintia Hills and also snatched her cellphone.

Fraud
Namit Kumar of IIM Shillong has lodged a complaint that unknown person(s) created a false e-mail ID in his name and has send mails to various company officials about certain participants for placement-related issues.
