Two coal-laden trucks seized at Umiam

SHILLONG: Coal laden trucks plying in violation of the NGT order continue to be seized from different parts of the state.
On Monday night, police detected and seized two such trucks with registration number AS-01HC-3385 driven by Rakesh Barman and NL-03A-7109 driven by Kamal Thapa at Umiam. Earlier, on Sunday, during Naka checking at Toll Plaza, 13th Mile, Byrnihat (RB), police seized a truck (AS-01DD-8538) driven by Kashmir Singh while illegally transporting coal.
Earlier, Ri Bhoi police had seized six trucks which were carrying coal in violation of the NGT order.
