4 suspected drug peddlers detained

SHILLONG: Police have detained four suspected drug peddlers based on complaints of two residents in Upper Mawprem on Friday.
Two suspected drug peddlers, Samir Sutradhar, 26, and Bimal Chandra, 32, were detained after a resident of Upper Mawprem, V.K. Singh, lodged a police complaint against the two. Singh and his friend were on their way to the market when they noticed the duo near Chicken Market at Iewduh here on Friday afternoon.
The duo was produced at Jhalupara outpost and police recovered 0.45 grams of white substance suspected to be heroin, from their possession.
Police detained two more persons, Banshngain Thabah, 21, and Pynshngain Thabah, 19, based on a complaint lodged by Banraplang Warjri, a resident of Upper Mawprem, on Friday afternoon.
Warjri along with his friend had noticed two persons indulging in “mischief” while they were proceeding to the graveyard at Mawbah.
Later, the duo was produced at Jhalupara outpost where police recovered 0.14 grams and 0.04 grams of substances suspected to be heroin from their possession.
