Crime Update

Stolen
On August 10, unknown miscreants stole one cell-phone belonging to Jenifer T Panmei from her residence at Upper Nongrim Hills.
On August 8, one motorcycle (ML-14-2057) belonging to Jerickson Sangma was stolen from Garobadha market.
Jakir Hussain lodged a complaint that his truck (MZ-05-3697) was stolen from Umlaper, East Jaintia Hills.
Arjune Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on August 9 at around 2 am, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (AS-17A-5864) from his residence at Burny Hills,West Garo Hills.
Krishbina Ch Momin lodged a complaint that on August 6 at around 4.30 am, a cattle worth of Rs 30,000 was stolen from his cowshed at Bollongre village, South West Garo Hills.

Injured
On August 11, a tractor (ML-05G-5848) collided with one motorcycle (ML-05E-4342) at Umroi Umdohbyrthih, Ri Bhoi district. In the incident the rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries and was admitted at CHC Bhoirymbong.

Threatened
Jenyberth Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on August 8, Chicko A Sangma was in an inebriated condition stopped his car at Chandmari ,Tura and abused him and also threatened him with dire consequences.

Violation of NGT rules
On August 8 , police detected one truck (ML-04A-7299) in Umpleng area in East Jaintia Hills while transporting coal illegally in violation of NGT order. However, on seeing the police, the driver and handyman fled away leaving the truck behind.

Arson
On August 7, unknown miscreants broke into the office of Mawshut Secondary School in West Khasi Hills and damaged six windowpanes and the door of the school building. The miscreants also burnt books belonging to the school. Loss of property is estimated around Rs. 20,000.
