SHILLONG: A pall of gloom descended on the residence of artist Raphael Warjri and Bibiana Kharnaoir at Mawlai Nongkwar on Sunday, a day after their 23-year-old daughter, Crystal Gayle Kharnaoir, died in a freak accident.
A large number of people, including her classmates, gathered at their residence on Sunday to convey their condolences for Crystal’s death.
Crystal, who was a BA third-year student of Women’s College, was crushed to death on Saturday when a eucalyptus tree on the premises of Raj Bhavan fell on the local taxi she was travelling in. Two more persons, including the driver, were also killed.
Crystal was going to her father’s art gallery at Umsohsun from college in Laitumkhrah when the accident took place.
Her funeral will be held at the Catholic cemetery, Mawprem, following a prayer service at 1 pm on Monday at her residence.
