Burglars torment citizens, several cases of theft reported

SHILLONG: The number of theft cases increases consistently in Meghalaya as instances of the same has been reported from across the State.
On August 12, miscreants broke into the house of Manasi Kaurinya at Lapalang and stole gold plated chain, two cell phones and other items.
On the same day, miscreants broke into the house of Anima Dutta at Upper Jail Road and stole two cell phones.
The case of burglary was also reported on August 10, when miscreants broke into a residence at Nongrah, Nonglum, and stole one CPU, one water pump, two cell phones, music system and other items.
Apart from the capital city, stealing cases were also reported in other parts of the State.
Rohit Kumar Singh lodged a complaint that on August 13, miscreants broke into the store room of his Stone Crusher site at Maikhuli under Pillangkata in Ri Bhoi and stole several items worth around Rs 64,000.
On the same night, miscreants also broke into the office of BDO, C& RD Block, Thadlaskein in West Jaintia Hills and stole one Computer monitor and vandalized the CPU of the computer.
