Sensitization programme on POCSO & Juvenile Justice Acts held

TURA: A sensitisation programme on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 was held for the students of Government Boys’ Secondary School, Resubelpara on Friday.

The programme which was organized by the District Child Protection Unit and Social Welfare Office aims to make the school students aware of the importance of POCSO & Juvenile Justice Act as the safeguarding tools  for the protection of the rights of children.

During the programme, S G Momin, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), informed that POCSO and Juvenile Justice Acts were implemented with the objective to provide care and protection of children from sexual assault, sexual harassment, pornography and to serve as guidance to children who are in conflict with law.

Earlier,  M  .Arengh, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) enlightened the students on various crimes against children and Acts designed to safeguard the welfare of the children.
