SHILLONG: Bernard Marak, representing Tura Nokma Committee, has asked the PWD to repair the road in Tura failing which he threatened to file FIR against the PWD and the contractors.
In a recent letter addressed to the Executive Engineer PWD, NH Tura, Marak said that the contractors had carried out sub- standard black topping work in Tura especially from Chandmari to Dobasipara.
“These roads are not officially acquired by the State Government as per information acquired through RTI and we demand the PWD to hand over the road to our committee for maintenance if they cannot carry out repair work”, Marak said.
If the PWD does not carry out maintenance work, Marak said he would file a complaint with the police against the contractors and the Executive Engineer for the low quality work done.
