16-year- old boy drowns in Bugi river

TURA: Body of a sixteen-year-old boy who had disappeared into the water of the Bugi river in South Garo was recovered three days later on Monday.

The young boy, Walsado M Marak, of Ruga village had gone down to Rugapara village with a group of friends to swim and have a bath on Saturday at around 11:30 AM when he was washed away by the strong current of the river.

The place of the tragedy is approximately 15 kms from Dalu-Barengapara border town of West Garo Hills district.

Despite a search was launched since Saturday his body could not be found until Monday morning when it was spotted about four kms downstream on the river bank near Awalgre village.
