Fraud call
Dilmera Ch Sangma lodged a complaint that on August 12, she received an SMS from ‘VK.SBI OTP’ in which a ‘One Time Password’ (OTP) was sent to her for online purchase through State Bank Debit Card. Later, she received a phone call from one Rahul Kumar from West Bengal, who asked the complainant to give him the OTP sent by ‘VK.SBI OTP’ on the pretext of updating her ATM Card. However, when the OTP was sent to the caller, an amount of Rs. 49,546 was withdrawn from her account.

Attempt to kidnap
One nineteen-year-old girl lodged a complaint that on August 15 around 7.30 am Md. Sohel Hussain (who she was in relationship for the last two years) took her to his residence at Fokirpara village (SWGH). However, his mother along with one other brought her back.

Youth assaulted
Momin Bepari lodged a complaint that on August 18 around 5 pm, while his son Md. Jahinoor Bepari was on his way home, on reaching at Palpara, South West Garo Hills, an unidentified person along with Jaber Miah and Md. Sondhu Miah assaulted his son and him to a pillar in the residential area of Sondhu Miah at Nandirchar.

Theft
On August 19, miscreants broke into the house of Akadul Haque at Arbuthnot Road, Nongkynrih, Laitumkhrah and stole Rs. 5000 cash, hammer drill machine, one TV set, etc.
Tengsang Marak lodged a complaint that on August 19, miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-08C-1474) from Ampati (SWGH).
Deep Basumatary lodged a complaint that on August 17 around 3.30 pm, miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-08E-8041) from Bolonggitok (WGH).
