Public rally on ILP at Mawkyrwat

MAWKYRWAT: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) South West Khasi Hills District has decided to hold a public rally on August 25, at Mawkyrwat to protest against the failure of the state government to implement the 14 point charter of demands including the Inner Line Permit (ILP).  
HYC South West Khasi Hills president, Arbor K. Jahrin informed that the rally will start at 10 am from the Block Development Officer, Mawkyrwat junction and it will end at Mawkyrwat market where they will hold a dharna.
“The decision of the council to hold the rally is to protest against the failure of the state government to implement the pending demands,” Jahrin said, adding that the HYC is ready to organise any type of agitations to pressure the government.
HYC asked all the members especially those from Mawkyrwat Circle to attend the rally. “We also request all sections of people including NGOs to attend the rally,” he said.
