TURA: Former Rajya Sabha MP, Thomas A Sangma on Thursday said that knowledge of science, mathematics and technology was essential for students in this age of computers.

Stating that the future belongs to students, Sangma said that the key to becoming successful was have a goal in life.

Speaking on the problem of unemployment among the youths, Sangma said that the education department should come up with new policies as mere college degrees were not enough for one to get a suitable job today. Later, the chief guest also inspected the exhibits put up by students after throwing the exhibition open.

Earlier, guest of honour, Kerobina A Sangma, District Science Supervisor, West Garo Hills Division highlighted the importance of education and urged the students to strive to become role models among their peers.
