NAAC Assessment
UGC- National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team will visit Shillong Commerce College for assessment and accreditation on August 30 and 31.
Silver Jubilee
Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Central Puja Committee , Meghalaya -2017-2018 will commence as per Vedic tradition and ritual with the performing of ‘VISWA SHANTI YOGYA ” for World Peace and Harmony on August 27 from 9 a.m. onward at Matri Mandir, Polo. Pandit Ganga Kashyap, Head Priest of Arya Samaj Mandir, Shillong will perform the Maha Yogya and Jagana.
Seminar
The district level science seminar on the topic, “Swachh Bharat : Role of Science and Technology, promises and challenges,” will be held on August 30 from 10 am onwards at Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School.
Tournament
The grand finale Islamic Premier League (ILP) Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament will be held on August 27 at Arya Vidhayalaya School ground, Jhalupara at 11:30 am in which Sanbor Shullai will be the Chief Guest. The match is between Madrasa School vrs Halla Bol Club.
Meghalaya Bridge Association, Shillong will organise its 45th Meghalaya Bridge Championship from August 26-27 in Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban. The game will start with an open pair at 10 am on August 26 followed by a team of four duplicate event and prize distribution.
Prayer
The Idd-Ul-Azha congregational prayer will be held at Laban, Eid-Gah field at 9 am on September 2. The congregational prayer will be lead by Janab Hafiz Md. Saddam Hussain Db, Imam of Madina Masjid, Eid-Gah, Laban.
NOC
The government has informed that Packaged Water Industries/Mineral Water Industries under North Garo Hills District operating and abstracting ground water without a proper valid No Objection Certificate from the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA), are to apply online for NOC at www.cgwa-noc.gov.in and to report to District Level Committee on Ground Water Resources, Resubelpara. Unauthorized industries are liable for appropriate action under Section 19 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
Anniversary
Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre celebrated its 15th Anniversary of its Computer Training Unit on Friday. The unit transformed from mere computer training to employability training with the inclusion of typing skills, life and languages skills, project work etc.
Clarification
Postal officials informed that the meeting of the staff condemned the incident that took place in front of SBI ATM, Main Branch, where police personnel deployed at Shillong GPO dispersed the strikingpostal employees who were standing outside the GPO campus peacefully.
Workshop
The Office of the Superintendent of Taxes, Ri Bhoi District in collaboration with the office of DC, Ri Bhoi will organise a workshop on Goods and Service Tax Act at District Library Auditorium Hall, Nongpoh on August 29 from 11 am to 1.30 pm for the district officers, BDOs, accountants and in the second session to be begin from 2 pm to 5 pm for the tax payers including dealers, contractors and suppliers.
