SHILLONG: Shillong Congress MP Vincent Pala, who is a keen participant in state politics, is keeping a low profile when the party is preparing for the Assembly polls.
Pala was in the dark about the recent dropping of Cabinet ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar.
Moreover, he is also not aware of the reshuffle at the block levels being taking place at the initiative of the party leadership both at the Centre and the State.
When contacted, Pala said MPCC president DD Lapang and Chief Minister Mukul Sangma are handling the matters related to the party and the government and he has no role at the state level.
However, sources said Pala does not want to be involved in state politics this time as he was blamed in the past for fielding some candidates of his choice in the 2013 polls.
Moreover, since the Lok Sabha MP does not have good equation either with the chief minister or the MPCC president, his active participation in the upcoming polls, including selection of candidates, is unlikely.
Pala is also not part of the state election committee headed by Lapang as the chairman.
It is yet to be known whether Pala will be included in the central election panel.
