TURA: Enilla Ch Marak, Nokma of Danakgre A’king, has written to the deputy commissioner of West Garo Hills denouncing the accusations raised against Bernard N Marak.
The Nokma said Bernard is the official custodian of Mark A and B areas in her A’king.
Cary Chambugong Marak, who as the Chra of the Chambugong Mahari clan, had written to DC Pravin Bakshi saying, “The illegal claim of Bernard Marak (to be the Nokma) is highly condemnable. The Danakgre A’king belongs to the Chambugong clan and Bernard does not have any locus standi to claim as nokma of any part or any A’king or otherwise, as customary right prevails in Nokmaship.”
“He does not belong to a nokma family of any existing A’king prevailing in Tura.”
In her letter, Enilla said Cary is a politician who was trying to make himself visible as leader of the Chambugong Mahari when he himself is involved in the manipulation of Danakgre A’king during his tenure as the chairman of GHADC.
“I acknowledge and decide who I appoint over my A·khing, not Cary Marak or any MDCs or anybody. Moreover, Cary Marak does not belong to Danakgre A·khing so it is better for him to not interfere in the matters of the A·khing or he will be sued,” the nokma added.
