SHILLONG: Hamlet Dohling, member of United Democratic Party (UDP) has tendered his resignation to the President/general secretary of the party on Saturday.

Dohling has resigned from positions of general secretary of the UDP state youth wing, president of youth wing of east Khasi Hills and executive member of the finance committee.

It may be reminded that the Mylliem Circle of the UDP party has rejected the decision of the Coordination Committee of HSPDP & UDP alliance pertaining to the seat-sharing between the two parties with respect to Mylliem.

Supporters of Dohling from Mylliem have voiced their resentment after the announcement of distribution of seats in Khasi – Jaintia Region in the month of July by the committee in which Mylliem seat went to HSPDP.

The supporters asserted that they would ensure his victory in the ensuing 2018 Assembly elections even if he contests from a different party.
