SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has expressed its disbelief over the matter concerning the 10 medical students who were denied admission in medical colleges of Assam.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, KSU said despite the students being meritorious, “they were not eligible for a medical quota because it has been discovered that there isn’t one at all”.
The group stated that this shows the discreditable conduct of the government as it is only delaying the students’ education in the field.
KSU urged the government to take measures to ensure that the students are allotted seats immediately. It also asked the government to provide clarifications on this matter by September 11. It also urged the central and state universities in Meghalaya to give first preference to local students.
