SHILLONG: Hamlet Dohling, who has joined the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), said on Saturday his chances of winning the elections have doubled after joining the newly formed party.
Speaking to The Shillong Times here on Saturday, Dohling said he was always confident that he would win the elections whichever party he contests from.
“People are now fed up with regional as well as national parties but PDF is a new party with a clean image and nothing wrong is there against PDF besides people are also looking for a change,” said the former UDP leader.
Asked about his opponents, Dohling said both his opponents are in power and they have money power since both the MDCs’ and the MLAs’ have several schemes.
He, however, sounded optimistic saying both the MDC and the MLA have not performed since so many years.
“Now as elections are at
) the doorstep, they have started going around trying to fool people but all these years, they have just neglected people,” he said and added that he continued to work even after losing in 2013.
It may be mentioned that Mylliem constituency is heading for a three-cornered election between PDF’s Hamlet Dohling, HSPDP’s Teilinia Thangkhiew and Congress’s Ronnie Lyngdoh.
