Deputy Commissioner  suspended as per Sonowal’s direction

GUWAHATI: On the basis of an inquiry report of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-corruption, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowala has ordered suspension of  Deputy Commissioner of Chirang District Binod Deka with immediate effect. As per Chief Minister’s direction, Personnel Department, Government of Assam has suspended Deka from service and posted ACS officer Ratul Baruah in his place as Deputy Commissioner, Chirang.

In a statement, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that Government of Assam has adopted zero tolerance attitude against corruption. No corrupt officials will be spared at any cost and Government will continue its fight against corruption in a more vigorous way in the days to come.

Chief Minister Sonowal has further stated that the State Government puts special emphasis on proper utilization of funds allotted for various schemes so that the no beneficiary is deprived. Terming corruption as a major deterrent to effective implementation of government schemes, Sonowal reiterated that no corrupt government official would be spared.
