3 drowning cases in EKH

SHILLONG: As many as three cases of drowning have been reported in East Khasi Hills in the past couple of days.
The body of Deepak Lama, 38, was fished out from Umiam Lake on September 12 prompting his brother, Gautam Lama, to file a police complaint after he suspected foul play.
On Wednesday, Lamkitbor Wankhar, 16, drowned while swimming at Kshaid Lawai, Thangsning under Madanrting Police Station. His body was fished out the same day and the matter is under enquiry.
On the same day, Vandem Tangsong, 18, drowned at Borhil river under Pynursla Police Station while trying to cross the river. His body was found on Thursday and necessary formalities have been observed.
