Infrastructural up-gradation of Williamnagar sought

TURA: A citizen’s body under the Women Citizen’s Forum of Williamnagar has submitted a memorandum to chief minister Mukul Sangma sought for infrastructural development of Williamnagar, East Garo Hills.
Among other demands made in their letter to the chief minister, the forum called for equipping the Williamnagar Civil Hospital with Ultra Sound, Sonography and X-ray machines as well as appointment of specialists like ophthalmologist, pediatrician, cardiologist, dermatologist etc. It also wanted blood bank facility to be made available at the hospital.
With regard to education, the forum said that science stream at Williamnagar Government College should be upgraded to a degree level and commerce stream with all the required facilities should be introduced.
The forum also sought the construction of a basketball court within the college premises.
Other demands made by the forum included construction of lawn tennis court and gallery in the existing outdoor stadium, construction of amusement park, introduction of modern and high tech farming equipment for farmers along with training on the same, construction of shopping mall and waiting shed for commuters in the town and the widening of the road from Sisobibra to Nengkhra via Williamnagar.
