TURA: “Great vision and policies of politicians towards education and proper implementation of the policies by bureaucrats and officers, teachers’ sincerity and devotion, role of parents and the interests of students are the five pillars of a robust education system,” Tura MP, Conrad K Sangma said.
Sangma was speaking as the chief guest during the ‘Parents’ Day’ celebration of the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mendal in North Garo Hills on Tuesday.
Sangma said that the real drawback behind failure of students was the lack of proper education code and system at the state level. He added that 80% of students failed due to poor education system.
Addressing the students, Sangma reminded that the home is the place where learning process started and that parents were the best teachers that any child can have. “Parents are role models for motivating their children,” he added.
Earlier, Principal of the host school, Rev Fr Bartholomew K Marak spoke on the importance of education in today’s society.
