Office shifted
The Office of the Meghalaya Khadi & Village Industries Board, Shillong has been shifted from Lower Lachumiere, Shillong to a new address w.e.f September 1 to MIDC Building (Ground Floor), ‘KISMAT’ Upland Road, Laitumkhrah.

Memorial
The Garo Students’ Union (Khasi Hills zone) invites all students, associations and church leaders of the Garo community to attend the 12th memorial programme on September 30 at Garo Union School, Bishop Cotton Road, Shillong at 3 pm for the nine Garo martyrs who sacrified their lives on the same day in 2005.
Dry days
The DC of Ri Bhoi and East Jaintia Hills has declared dry day from September 29-30 on account of Maha Navami and Dussehra and on October 2 on account of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday.

Atta released
The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that Whole-meal Atta for September is being distributed through the Fair Price Shops at the scale of 1 kg 920 grams at the rate of Rs. 8 per kg.

The Central Water Commission, under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation observed the Swacchta Hi Sewa on Tuesday to raise awareness and to achieve the goal of universal sanitation and hygiene.

Candlelight vigil
Meghalaya peoples’ United Front, Jaintia students movement, Hynniewtrep national movement East Jaintia, Hynniewtrep National Youth Front organised a candle light vigil in memory of Setlang Phawa and Derestmon Siangshai on Sunday. The candle light vigil was held at the monument erected in their honour. The two were killed at the Mookhep firing in 2014.
