SHILLONG: A number of applications were submitted to the respective Block Congress Committees for contesting the upcoming elections on Wednesday.
The last date for submission of applications to the respective Block Congress Committees was October 4.
As per the schedule, the last date for BCCs to submit the list of screened applications to their respective district Congress committees is October 31.
The last date for the district units to submit the list of recommended candidates to MPCC is on November 22. The screening of recommended candidates by MPCC will be held on November 30.
On Wednesday, Anamika J G. Momin, who is seeking to contest the elections from South Tura constituency, also submitted her application at Congress Bhawan in Tura.
Even before the declaration of the candidates by the party, around 400 supporters of Momin gathered at Congress Bhawan to drum up solidarity to her.
