Bharat Scouts and Guides organises cultural programmes, food festival at U Soso Tham hall

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, (MBSG), East Khasi Hills District organised the 2ndCultural Programme and 1st Food Fest today at U Soso Tham Auditorium and Premises, Shillong. The programme was inaugurated by the Meghalaya Minister I & PR, Labour, etc, Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh in presence of Secretary, MBSG,  A Swer, Scouts and Guides officials and students of different schools of the District. The programme was sponsored by the Government of Meghalaya under the Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme through the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills.

In her speech, the Chief Guest said that the vision of the founder of Scouts and Guides was inspiring and praiseworthy because the movement prepares young boys and girls to take on the responsibility to serve the society in a selfless manner.

She said that being a girl guide in her student’s life, she has been equipped with various life skills which have proved beneficial for her in her dealings with day to day life activities as a public representative and a human being. She urged the schools and college management to encourage students to join the Bharat Scouts and Guides, a movement working towards character building and life skills and prepare them to deal with the challenges in life. She expressed hoped that the principles laid down by its founder is inculcated in our daily life so that we can grow in character, strength and be role models to the society at large.
