Bruno Mars, Drake, Ed Sheeran lead American Music Awards nods

Los Angeles, Oct 13 (PTI) Bruno Mars, Drake and Ed Sheeran have scored maximum nominations at the American Music Awards (AMAs). Mars topped the list with six nods in Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Favourite Male Artiste – Pop/ Rock, Favourite Album – Soul/ R&B, Favourite Song – Soul/ R&B and Favourite Artiste – Adult Contemporary categories, reported Billboard. The “24K Magic” singer was closely followed by Sheeran and Drake tied with five nominations each. Besides the three artistes, The Chainsmokers and Kendrick Lamar are also up for the fight to win the award for Artist of the Year. In the New Artist of the Year category, the tussle is among James Arthur, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, Post Malone and Rae Sremmurd. Rihanna has been nominated in two categories of Favourite Female Artist for Pop/ Rock and Soul/ R&B. Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Shakira are contenders in the category of Favourite Artiste – Latin. The Weeknd’s ‘Starboy’ is up for some competition from Drake and Mars in the Favourite Album category. The AMAs will exclusively air on Vh1 in India on November 20. PTI
