Accident
On October 18, one Tata Sumo (ML-05G-8363) driven by Overwell Kurbah (27), skidded off the road and capsized inside the 1st MLP Bn., compound at Mawiong, Shillong. As a result, four occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were admitted at different hospitals in Shilllong.

One knocked down
On October 17 around 8.30 pm, one unknown Maruti Gypsy knocked down one pedestrian Savio Mawrie (39) at Laitkor, Shillong.The victim sustained injuries and was admitted in the hospital.

Threatened
On October 12, Jowel Sangma of Rongreng Nokak village in East Garo Hills lodged a complaint that two unidentified armed persons went to his residence and handed over a demand note to his wife of Rs 2 lakh. On October 17, around 12.35 pm, the complainant received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller threatened him and his wife with dire consequences, if they fail to pay the money.

Heroin seized
A day after 437.13 gm of heroin was seized on Wednesday from Mawblei, police on Thursday caught a suspected drug addict and smuggler near Rilbong Point. Police seized 0.23 gram of heroin from Amit Sharma (32 years), a resident of Jhalupara, while he was coming from Jhalupara at around 2 pm. Sources informed that he often get drugs from Happy Valley. The heroin is worth Rs 1800.
