Govt to partner with outside companies to set up IT park: Ampareen

SHILLONG: Information Technology, Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh, said that the government was investing in the IT park and would partner with companies from outside the state.

She was speaking at the 5th convocation on Graphics & Web Designing (GWD) of Arena Animation was held on Monday in which she was the chief guest.

Stating that 2018 will be a big year, she said, “We will have a better IT park in New Shillong Township as there are plans to start a park with state of the art technology.”

She informed that the proposed IT Park would cost Rs 580 crore. Interacting with the students, she pointed to the job opportunities outside government if the students were armed with a certificate course on web designing, graphics etc.

Pointing to the certificates, Lyngdoh said that the students could be job creators and urged them to think out of the box to excel in their chosen field.
