100 more families to get BPL scheme

SHILLONG: Ardhendu Chaudhuri Charitable Trust which has been serving the needy since 2005, has extended its unique scheme of free essential commodities to another hundred BPL families.
On Monday, the Trust handed over the BPL cards to the beneficiaries at a function held at Rilbong. 
With this, the number of beneficiary families has risen to 200.
The Trust will provide some essential commodities for next one year to these families costing Rs 8 lakh.
The Trust has spent over Rs 1 crore for enabling various forms of financial succour to the poor. 
The Trust is mostly funded by way of personal donations made by its Managing Trustee ever since he became an MLA in 2005.
