Teachers to boycott D.El.Ed Ist batch exam

SHILLONG: Teachers teaching at the elementary level of class 1 till class VIII have decided to boycott the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) 1st batch (2013) examinations and will stage a sit-in demonstration with black flags on November 9, the first day of the examination at Additional Secretariat parking lot.

The examination is scheduled to begin from November 9 and will end on November 21 conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to mark the protests against the lackadaisical attitude of the state government and the NIOS to take corrective steps with regard to the errors and anomalies in the results of the candidates.

In a press statement, HM Marbaniang, general secretary of Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) Central Body said the decision was made at a meeting held at Tpep Pale Community Hall Jowai and at Khasi National Dorbar Hall Mawkhar, Shillong on November 4.
