Man flees with co-workers’ salary
On November 11, Pranjol Bhuyan (20) and seven others lodged a complaint that on October 14, the Administration of M/s Ferro Alloy Industry, Riwiang, West Khasi Hills [based at Guwahati], had sent their salary amounting Rs. 35,000/- by crediting the amount in the account of one Monjurul Hoque. However, Monjurul Hoque disappeared from the industry without distributing their salary.
Accident
On November 10 around 1.45 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti Alto car (ML-05N-8061) driven by Dhan Bh. Gurung (56 yrs) and one scooty (ML-05K-0996) ridden by Olyanban Kurkalang (32 yrs) at 7th Mile, Upper Shillong. As a result, the scooty rider sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Shillong.
Heroin seized
On November 10, police arrested Krishna Sunar (30 ) from Paltan Bazar, Shillong and recovered / seized 0.431 grams of suspected heroin from his possession.
NGT violation
On November 9 around 9.30 am, police detected two trucks (1) AS-01U-5286 driven by Niar Langstang and (2) ML-04B-0425 driven by Precious Rymbai, while transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Adhunik Cement plant (EJH).
On November 9 around 4 am, police detained one truck (AS-01CC-0911) at Umtyra village (EJH), while it was attempting to load coal for transportation in violation of NGT order.
One found dead in MUDA
On November 6, one unidentified person was found lying unconscious at MUDA, Police Bazar, Shillong and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong, where he died on November 10.
