Ex-JHADC chief to contest from Sutnga

JOWAI: Former Chief Executive Member of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Hambertus Nongtdu, brother of businessman, Thomas Nongtdu of Byndihati village has decided to contest in the upcoming Assembly 2018 election from Sutnga Saipung Constituency in East Jaintia Hills.  
Hambertus was a congress MDC and was elected as the JHADC chief.
However, now he has joined the saffron party and will seek the BJP ticket for Sutnga Saipung seat represented by Independent MLA, Hopeful Bamon.
Bamon will contest on NPP ticket whereas former PHE Minister, Shitlang Pale will contest from Congress.
 Shitlang Pale will contest from Congress, while Hambertus Nongtdu, an aspirant candidate of the BJP, Hopeful Bamon from NPP and Defender Pakem from HSPDP are the other candidates from Sutnga-Saipung Constituency.
The United Democratic Party (UDP) has not nominated its candidate till date.
