TURA: An organisation for former ANVC-B cadres is planning to use an indigenous version of Tambola, a game of probability, to ensure welfare of the surrendered rebels who are yet to get government rehabilitation packages.
A’chik Matgrik is set to introduce ‘Bawil Dawil’, a form of Housie, in a big way.
Bawil Dawil, which was started in 2015, is played in Tura but in a small scale “but now we want to open it for our members living outside Tura”, said a statement issued by the organisation on Sunday.
“Bawil Dawil is the tribal version of Tambola with a bigger concept where sheets similar to Tambola are booked and lucky winners get prizes. We want to help our former cadres to earn a living. This is our private project aimed to support our former members and the youths in general,” the statement said.
The project will start from this month.
“We have informed the authorities during our review meetings and will also take up the matter in the next review meeting of the Agreed Text monitoring committee as Rehabilitation packages are yet to be released to all,” said AR Marak, organising secretary of A’chik Matgrik.
