SHILLONG: Thma U Rangli Juki while welcoming the judgment of High Court on recruitment of assistant teachers, said that the politicians involved in the case should resign.
In a statement on Sunday, TUR said that the decision by the court in the education scam bared corruption and nepotism and demanded that all the politicians named in the CBI report resign immediately from their respective posts.
TUR also asked all the political parties not to give tickets to them to contest the upcoming polls till they are cleared of the serious charges of nepotism and corruption. According to TUR, the report not only names Ampareen Lyngdoh of the Congress party but white fluid was applied to fulfill the recommendations of other politicians who are now part of BJP NPP, UDP and Congress while some are Independents.
“Corruption cuts across party lines in Meghalaya and most of the parties are tainted by this scam”, TUR said. The pressure group said that the tainted politicians include Prestone Tynsong, J.A. Lyngdoh, Donkupar Massar, Remington Pyngrope, R. C. Laloo, Sniawbhalang Dhar, R.L. Tariang, Ronnie V Lyngdoh, Charles Pyngrope, Sanbor Shullai, A.L.Hek, Limison D. Sangma, Lambor Malngiang,  Augustin D.Marak, Clement Marak, Ismail R Marak , Sayeedullah Nongrum and M.Pariat.“It is not surprising therefore that most of the parties like NPP and BJP have been quiet on this judgment”, TUR said and appealed to the citizens to challenge the endemic corrupt system of nepotism perpetuated by the politico-bureaucratic nexus.
