SHILLONG: The number of coal-laden trucks detained in the last one week in East Jaintia Hills is a proof of the unabated mining in the area.

The police said the drivers of all the trucks escaped. A day before, they had detained 13 trucks laden with illegal coal but the truckers could not be arrested. They also found 30 trucks at Lumshnong on the same day.
